School Profile

EXCEL College Preparatory High School is a small college prep high school located at the McClymonds Educational Complex in West Oakland. It is part of Oakland Unified's small school initiative and was opened in 2005.

EXCEL offers:

Small classes to allow for personalized learning
Computer-based intervention programs and intervention classes in English Language Arts and Math
SAT and CAHSEE prep classes
AP Courses (All students are encouraged to take at least 1 AP class prior to graduation.)
College Tours
SAT and ACT fee waivers (All students are required to take the SAT exam.)
Support from the College Resource Room sponsored by UC Berkeley
Concurrent enrollment opportunities at one of the Peralta campuses
